Candidates out on the stump make many promises. What will they really do? We only have their track record to go by. Regardless of how hard it is to get the facts we know that Obama has boldly made the promise to raise taxes (as high as 52% and higher). Obama plans on lifting the cap on Social Security. Currently we pay 6.2% up to $102,000. If he is successful, every family earning over $102,000 will experience a tax increase. Your effective tax rate could be as high as 52% or more under Obama.
